Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, and Meditation

The new addictions course available on-line at PAHA is “Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, and Meditation”. This is an 6-hour course that is available at our on-line training center anytime at http://substanceabusecounselortraining.com which covers the topic of Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, and Meditation with a specific substance abuse focus for Nurses, Counselors, and other Health Professionals.

Here are the topics covered in this course:

  1. Introduction to the Stress Response including Fight, Flight or Freeze and General Adaptation Syndrome
  2. Overstress, Burnout & Breakdown
  3. Stressful life events including Catastrophes, Significant life changes, and Daily hassles
  4. Stress and the Body including Stress and the immune system, Stress and cancer, and Stress, personality, and heart disease.
  5. Coping with stress
  6. Guided Imagery
  7. Meditation
  8. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT)
