  2. Relapse prevention principles, such as management of irrational thoughts, unmanageable feelings, self-destructive urges, and self-defeating behaviors that are commonly seen in persons suffering from Substance Use Disorders;
  3. Stages of recovery treatment and relapse prevention including stabilization, warning sign identification, warning sign management, and recovery planning;
  4. Appropriate responses to a relapse by use of planned interventions, stabilizing the client in the appropriate level of care, assessment of the factors that contributed to the relapse, and revision of the recovery plan.
