Our Faculty

Elizabeth (Liz) Bush has practiced mental health nursing on the Big Island since 1999 and trains substance abuse counselors in her spare time.

She has also served as a mental health provider in the immediate vicinity of the September 11th tragedy and has worked with Combat Veterans, Native American tribes and Pacific Islanders, as well as in East Coast inner city neighborhoods.

Ms. Bush holds a Master of Science in Nursing and is board certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She is also board certified as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC), Certified Co-occurring Disorders Professional-Diplomate (CCDP-D), and an Addictions RN in Advanced Practice (CARN-AP).

Steven Clements joined the Pacific Academy of the Healing Arts in the fall of 2019 as Director of Online Programs. He has lived on the Island of Hawaii since 2004. He worked at Hawaii Community College for twelve years as Coordinator of the Intensive English Program, a language program for international students and resident immigrants.

Steven developed a successful volunteer program for his international students, encouraging them to improve their language skills while developing friendships and making a contribution to the community. He was also the Study Abroad Coordinator for Hawaii CC, providing many local students with the opportunity to study language and culture abroad.

Prior to moving to Hawaii, Steven lived and worked in Japan as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language at colleges and language schools. He taught at KIDI/Parsons, a design school affiliated with The New School’s Parsons School of Design in New York, where he developed curriculum for Language of Art and Design courses. He created a private summer Study Abroad program in California for Japanese students with a focus on art and design.

Steven has a BA in Fine Art and has taught Multimedia at the San Diego Community College New Media Center. He has a Master’s in Education from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. He manages the PAHA website and student enrollment in the PAHA Online Academy and assists PAHA students with questions regarding their studies.
